Set Priorities for your Family and Stick to Them!

18 Aug

Living in such a fast paced society, if we are not careful our families will be swept into the current and pulled places we may not want to go.

“Are we asking questions that help evaluate the priorities of our lives?”

– What is most important in our lives? Are we living in such a way to preserve or enhance how we spend our days?

-How does our family spend time together and is there any way it could be improved on? What is stealing away our time?

-What are the most important things we want to teach our children? Are we  prioritizing the time to teach them in an effective way?

-What could we change to better serve each other and others, as a family?

…just a few things to think about at the start of a new school year

I love the simplicity, here. So many families (often, including my own) are struggling to find time to fit everything in – work, sports, time with friends, time alone, time to study, time online, family time, quality time, whatever. There is never enough time.

What a simple, elegant solution: Decide what is most important to you and your family. Then do it. Beautiful!

    Hi Becky,
I think one of the greatest blessings of home schooling is the process of re-evealuating that goes on toward the end of each summer as we start to plan our next school year. And I consider the questions you put out there as three of the most important ones we ask (or should ask). It is so easy to be all about planning curriculum and forget the bigger questions that affect the outcome of all the work. Thanks again for all the time you put into this blog. I believe you are offering mint advice!
    Love you. Debbie
